Inwin case, current Alder LakeCPU and fast Amperegraphics
card: The Aldi PC has quite a lot of power for its price.
Aldi will sell the Medion Engineer P20, a gaming PC for
1,600 euros, from January 27, 2022. This price is comparatively low in view of
the built-in upper-class hardware, as graphics cards in particular are
currently extremely expensive.
The Medion Engineer P20 is based on an LGA-1700 motherboard, with Gigabytes Z690M Aorus Elite AX a high-end board is used. With the Core i5-12600K (test), it contains a current Alder Lake chip that uses 6+4 cores and can process 16 threads. Matching it, there are 16 GB DDR4-3200 memory in dual channel operation.
The graphics card is a Geforce RTX 3060 Ti (test) in the system, which is equipped with 8 GB of video memory. Theoretically, this costs 420 euros individually, but most available models cost at least 850 euros upwards - which makes the Medion Engineer P20 so attractive.
Hunter X20 and Engineer P10 as alternatives
Windows 11 Home is pre-installed on a 1 TB NVMe SSD, plus a
2 TB hard drive. Other features include Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax),
as well as Gigabit Ethertnet. All hardware is located in an Inwin housing with
illuminated glass panel, the processor is equipped with all-in-one water
cooling.
In addition to the Medion Engineer P20, Aldi also sells the
Hunter X20,also from January 27, 2022: This system costs 2,500 euros, including
a Core i7-12700K (test) with 8+4 cores, 32 GB DDR5-4800 memory and a Geforce
RTX 3070 Ti (test) with 8 GB of video memory. Again, there is 1 TByte NVMe and
a 1 TByte HDD including Windows 11.
In addition, there is the Engineer P10 with Core i7-11700, 16 GByte DDR4 and Geforce RTX 3060 Ti for 1,300 euros.
