Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection Promotes Transparency

Kaspersky has streamlined and expanded the list of features available for Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection users. Valuable updates include the emergence of position cities, as well as the ability for Kaspersky VPN service to be attached to a home router or other connected devices. Additionally, Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection now has a dedicated transparency and security page explaining how the service collects and processes individual data in case of law enforcement and government requests.

The trend of remote or hybrid work continues around the world, with many workers choosing to work partially from home in 2021. At the same time, users are now paying more attention to what happens to their online data and trying to protect it. All of this has led to the growing popularity of VPN services, which are now used to protect sensitive business information and ensure privacy online.

Expanding the list of new location-cities and existing regions.

With the latest update, users can now connect to locations-cities as well as regions. 20 cities worldwide are available for contact. City positions now work on Android™, iOS™ and Mac® devices. The Windows® feature will be available early next year. In total, users can connect to more than 70 positions in 54 regions.

With the option to change the position without changing the country, this feature will increase the level of closure. In addition, it will increase the reliability of the relationship and the performance of the service. In addition, if for some reason the most suitable position does not work for the user, another server cluster can be selected.

Ability to connect routers and other devices to Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection

Consumers can protect their residential Wi-Fi networks by including routers in VPN through Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection. This feature is available on all devices that support the built-in or standard OpenVPN® client. If the user connects a router to Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection, all devices connected to this router are protected.

In addition, users have the opportunity to connect devices and operating systems (OS) that are not currently directly supported by artifact to Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection via OpenVPN. This includes Linux®, Chromebook™, FireTV and AndroidTV. This feature will be available for premium users.

VPN transparency and security page

Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection now has its own transparency and security page explaining how the service collects and processes user's personal data if requested by law enforcement or governments. This page will help users answer their most valuable questions about privacy. More details can be found here.

Extended list of available streaming services

HBO Max has been added to the suite of streaming platforms powered by Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection. The full list of streaming services includes Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Amazon Prime Display, BBC iPlayer and Hulu.

“We see that consumers are now more consciously and carefully monitoring who they share information with and how their information is stored and processed. Humans are learning to create a more secure environment for themselves and there is a greater demand for digital privacy. According to Kaspersky's research, 65 percent of Internet users are concerned about their personal data being stolen online. VPN is a necessary service for those who are concerned about their security and privacy. Therefore, ensure that you are using duly safe tools, as long as there is sound and transparent information.”
